Women are taking over the UNTOLD stages this year

The story of the sixth edition of the UNTOLD festival, one of the 10 most appreciated festivals in the world, will continue in 2021 with four days and four nights of magic, with a line-up that includes the greatest DJs of the world, legendary artists and bands, with some first time appearances in  Romania.

On September 12, a woman will perform on the Mainstage for the first time, we are talking, of course, about B Jones, an amazing artist from Spain.

B Jones is also considered by the public and the electronic music industry as the strongest personality in the new wave of artists. She is the ambassador of the island that never sleeps, Ibiza, she was a resident of the Pacha club, and then managed to enter the big circuit of events.

She was nominated for the “Best Artist Of The Year” category at the Vicious Music Awards, and her presence in the Top 100 Djanes (a ranking dedicated exclusively to women in the electronic music industry) earned her the status of main guest in major clubs around the world. Her world tour included countries such as Germany, France, the United Kingdom, Switzerland, the United States, Mexico, Brazil, Argentina, India, Japan, Singapore, Egypt and Morocco.

B Jones signed a partnership with Pacha Agency and became an ambassador for the famous brand. Residences followed in Mambo, Nassau Beach Club, KM5 or Blue Marlin. B Jones was chosen as the resident DJ in Ushuaia (Ibiza) for the series of weekly events of the Norwegian artist Kygo.

The artist was later invited to the biggest festivals in her home country: Dreambeach, where she opened for Tiesto, or Arona SummerFestival. She naturally became a headliner at the big events on the festival circuit, along with Martin Garrix, Dannic, Eric Morillo, Borgeous or Laidback Luke. She followed her residency in Hï Ibiza with Steve Angello, Diplo or Diego Miranda.

B Jones has also successfully experienced her career as a producer, she also has a podcast, COME CLOSER TO IBIZA, broadcasted on over 35 radio stations around the world.

One of the most anticipated artists at UNTOLD 2021, another premiere for a festival in Romania, is the techno revelation, Charlotte deWitte.

In September 2017, DJ Mag paid homage to a Belgian artist named “techno’s next-gen superstar”. Charlotte de Witte would be one of the most visible personalities on the techno scene in a short time.

4 years after that moment, she occupies the 1st place in Top 100 Alternatives, compiled by DJ Mag, a spot occupied until last year by the legend Carl Cox. Thus, Charlotte de Witte marks the strongest climb in the Top 100 DJ Mag 2020. It was a time when Charlotte launched her own productions under the alias Ravin George, a choice she motivated a few years later.

There was a time when the electronic music industry was dominated by men, affected by stereotypes, women being accused of using their femininity for professional gain.

All of this affected Charlotte as well, but did not destabilize her. She continued to release music under the alias Raving George. “You’re Mine” collaboration with Oscar And The Wolf was officially released with Spinnin ‘Records, the official clip reaching over 35 million views.

Charlotte de Witte’s first production was launched in 2015 with Turbo Recordings, followed by a weekly residency at the famous Fuse club in Brussels, and this year she celebrated 5 years of residency at Kompass, the club in the city where she grew up, Gent.

She currently owns a KNTXT label, a resident of BBC Radio 1 and is one of the most popular techno figures, with appearances at major festivals around the world. Charlotte de Witte is in the heavy category of techno music, in 2019 she had over 130 live sets on the mainstage of the biggest festivals, she is one of the women who managed to change the perception in the electronic music industry, she is a complete artist , manages to conduct her business, the radio show, has one of the most followed profiles on social media and has managed to confirm her NO 1 DJ status in the techno industry.

2021 seems to be the year of women in the Top 100 Alternatives, but also in the line-up of the Galaxy @ UNTOLD scene.

Amelie Lens is one of the artists who has dominated the club / festival culture in recent years, a detail that gave her visibility and brought her first entry, directly on the 59th place in the Top 100 DJ Mag and the 5th place in the Top 100 Alternatives.

She is one of the best paid techno artists, with live appearances at Awakenings, DGTL or in Ibiza at DC-10 and Hï. In 2019 she started collaborating with the famous London club Fabric for the “Fabric presents” series.

Her journey was a fast one, she had a team (AIROD, Farrago, Milo Spkyers, Ahl Iver) who gave her unconditional support and with whom she started a label, Lenske.
Amelie described herself as a control freak, a girl obsessed with the smallest details, who leaves nothing to chance. Her first live set was at the Belgian Dour festival when she was 15. After that she spent her teenage years travelling across Belgium by train to various gigs. A few years later she started her first residency, in a club in her hometown Antwerp, using various aliases and learning to produce music, from edits to remix versions of old-school tracks.

That fusion of classic techno and super fast beats defined her style.
Richie Hawtin described her music during a showcase at the Amsterdam Dance Event, saying “this mix of old and new, a new sound that is strong but not aggressive, fast-paced, hypnotic and full of energy makes Amelie an icon for the techno scene”.

Her first release, ,,Exhale” came out in 2016 with Italian label Lyase. Shortly after, she released three more productions, ,,Let it Go”, ,,Contradiction” and ,,Stay With Me”, for Second State, a label owned by Pan-Pot. Soon after this came international recognition and Amelie Lens shared the same stage with the most respected techno DJ/Producers. Headlining at Sonar, Time Warp, Awakenings or Movement Detroit, she arrived in Ibiza with the Circoloco series of events in DC-10.

A residency at Labyrinth Club followed, where she started the EXHALE series of events with special guests including Marcel Dettmann, Ben Klock, Ellen Allien, Rødhåd and Kobosil, with the EXHALE series of events she ended up having her own stage at festivals such as Creamfields, OFFSonar, Dour, Extrema,Primavera, Kappa, FuturFestival or Lowlands.
With the LENSKE label she focused on releasing energetic, authentic productions, investing in unknown artists. She is 30 years old and her story is just beginning.

The Galaxy Universe @ UNTOLD 2021 is completed in 2021 by Nina Kraviz.
She is one of the most well-known figures in the techno genre, famous for her ability to combine dynamic and different sounding sets, sensational live appearances. She’s been a force in the techno genre since her release in 2009.

She released the first album of her career in 2012, which was followed by two EPs, ,,I’m Week” and ,,Ghetto Kraviz”, both of which were considered underground hits. With ,,Mister Jones”, which includes a dancefloor hit – ,,Desire” she ends her collaboration with Radio Slave owned label, Rekids, to set up her own label, Trip (трип).

A unique audio-visual concept, non-conformist productions were enough to hit the big time with the Trip label; in 2015 here was released the biggest techno su ccess of that year, ,,I Wanna Go Bang”, a track signed Bjarki.

Nina dominated the festival circuit in 2018, DJing the most live appearances in the world. According toFesticket, the Russian techno star scored the most appearances on the festival circuit, 35 in all, legendary for her appearance at the Galaxy Stage @ UNTOLD.
